Alex is the director of a Melbourne based company, Sage Private Clients Pty Ltd, a licensed Australian Financial Services company, which specializes in taxation, superannuation and financial planning consulting.

His firm provides consulting and compliance advice on domestic and international tax issues. In particular, he can assist clients (corporate/individual) in the preparation and lodgement of Australian tax, returns, annual accounts and structuring of Australian property investment portfolios. As an authorized representative, Alex is responsible for strategic financial planning as well as taxation advice for his clients.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Law degree from Auckland University and a Masters in Tax from the University of NSW. He is a member with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, an associate with the Securities Institute of Australia, a Certified Financial Planner and Registered Tax Agent.

His career started in 1977 with various chartered accounting firms in Australia and New Zealand, specializing in taxation matters. In 1985, he was appointed National Australia Bank’s(NAB) Taxation Manager in corporate taxation. In 1992, he was transferred to National Australia Financial Management Ltd as Taxation Manager providing advice on financial planning, superannuation, estate planning, fund management and property investment advice. In 1998, he was transferred to NAB’s private banking as the Senior Manager of Taxation providing advice on general and international taxation matters, where he remained until 2000 when he left to establish his own company.

As a presenter/lecturer at the Securities Institute of Australia(SIA) for the Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning, he runs numerous workshops for the SIA in taxation and tax reform. Alex is also a part time lecturer at RMIT in the faculty of Accounting and Law. In addition, he has taught Malaysian and Singaporean tax laws in their respective universities.
